Sarah Sharpnack
Admin Assistant, Co-Director of Kids’ Discipleship

Sarah has been involved in church ministry in various forms for most of her life. Born in California, Sarah moved to TN at 5 when her parents ran a foster home. She grew up in the church as her parents served in ministry and were a part of several church plants. Sarah wanted to pursue a deeper understanding of God and scripture, and so she went to Bible College in California. She met her husband, Michael, in college and they moved back to TN to serve in youth ministry together. On staff at the church, Sarah worked in kids’ ministry, youth ministry, and college ministry. She worked there for 4 years before having children. She took some time off to be a stay at home mom to her boys. Sarah now works as the admin assistant at Christ Church TN and volunteers as the Children's Ministry leader alongside her husband. Sarah and Michael have been married for 11 years, and together they have 3 boys, August, Theo, and Milo. She loves spending time with her family. Some of her biggest hobbies are reading and gardening.

Our Approach

The mission of our Kids Ministry is “Bless, and do not hinder.” We aim to pray for every child, provide them a safe environment where they feel welcome and loved, and to talk with them about Jesus, sing, pray, and play. “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward!” Psalm 127:3, ESV We believe that parents should have the primary role of discipleship in a child’s life. It’s our job, as the church community, to offer support and encouragement to the parents, and love and gentleness to the children. Our goal is support your discipleship efforts with Kids’ Talks in the service, classes for the younger children, and a pre-service Youth Community Group for 4th grade and older. “And they were bringing children to him that he might touch them, and the disciples rebuked them. But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, ‘Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.’ And he took them in his arms and blessed them, laying his hands on them.” Mark 10:13–16, ESV
